Complete Fossil

One of the biggest stories in paleontology this past month was the announcement of a beautifully complete fossil of an Eocene primate scientifically christened:

Darwinius messilae

Mystery Dragon Egg

These were originally found by farmers in China long ago, but there have been many found throughout the United States. Scientists first thought these large 5 inch eggs to be giant bird eggs. But they seemed too hard and too old. Other scientist thought they were an ancient fish eggs. It was not clear what kind of creature could have laid such a large egg. These eggs had to have come from some extinct creature that roamed our planet long ago. The U.S. Chief Scientist from Washington D.C. studied the egg closely for some time and he finally discovered what they were.

DRAGON EGGS

These ancient drag eggs can be found all over the United States and other parts of the world. They are known to be large Dragon Eggs from 100 B.C., long before humans were known to exist. These eggs can get up to 5-8 inches and weigh up to 5 pounds!!

These eggs come a dinosaur known to look like this:

Dracorex Hoawartsia

This dragon is also known as, “The Dragon King of Hogwarts.” It is a new species of pachycephalosaur whose skull was covered in a fantastic array of spikes, tubercles, and hornlets.
