Recently paleontologist have found numerous amounts of dinosaur eggs in caves and along creek beds in southern United States. These eggs typically measure 5.5 inches and can weigh up to 3 pounds. These are thought to be the eggs of Orthoceras.

The Orthoceras lived during the Ordivocian Era and back as far as the Devonian Era. They are a member of the nautiliod family.
